Course Objectives

This intensive will include:

  • Short asana sequences for hip opening, and easy movement practices that incorporate the breath, for all levels. 

  • A brief history of pranayama and its significance for thousands of years in yoga practice in general.

  • The many benefits and effects of pranayama.

  • The link between the breath, the mind, and the emotions and how pranayama naturally prepares us for meditation.

  • Developing a sustainable daily practice incorporating preparatory and foundational pranayama exercises.

  • Learning to teach basic pranayama practices to others, as well as how to incorporate some simple practices into your current asana classes.

  • Final review and teaching practicum.
